Input retained weights on each sieve to generate gradation curve, D10/D30/D60, Cu & Cc.
📝 ASTM D6913 / D7928 Method
- Sieve analysis: Stack sieves, shake 10 min (mechanical), weigh retained
- Hydrometer: For fines <0.075mm, readings at 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 15, 30, 60, 240, 1440 min
- D10, D30, D60 = particle diameters at 10%, 30%, 60% passing
- Cu = D60/D10 (Uniformity), Cc = (D30)²/(D10×D60) (Curvature)
- Well-graded: Cu ≥ 4 (gravel), Cu ≥ 6 (sand) AND 1 ≤ Cc ≤ 3
